Bitchin' article. Vinnie's take on metric modulation! I really dig the 4:3 stuff. I never thought of doing that before, and the way he writes it out is kind of brilliant (with the "make believe" bar line showing where the phrase repeats itself). Makes it really easy to understand. Good stuff.

Yes, it was a VERY informative mag with a BARE MINIMUM of advertisement (it's probably why it went out of business). Lots of time must have been put in every issue (each had a tape). The article on Vinnie is cool too, you see what was his vision at 30.

And Vinnie plays matched on this issue's cover...

My boss (the Drum Pad) has your Omni of Drum Technique book, and I've borrowed it many times. Oh My God!, that thing makes just about every other book I've seen look like kids play.

PI was amazing, I still have all the issues and tapes.

I also remember a cool article you wrote in the Sabian's magazine in 1990:
"Syncopated Hard Funk Through Cyclic Displacement"
I used to shed it and had lots of fun with it!
